Shader Configuration
Using the hologram shader you have a couple of things that you can configure:
Base Inputs
Base and Normal Map
Add your base and normal maps to the material.
Please keep in mind that the textures will have the best effect
On opaque surface type and with a darker main color.
The brighter the main color, the less you will see of the base map.
Hologram Configs
View Position
Select between World and Screen view position to change the
appearance of the hologram.
In the image below you can see the Screen view on the left
And the World view on the right which has more of a 3D effect.
Outer Color
Color for the outer edges of the object
Glow Power
Strength of the glow of the outer color
Noise Texture
This asset comes with a couple of noise textures, you can switch them to apply a slightly different hologram effect.A noise texture is a simple texture only consisting of lines from black, white and different gray gradients. You can find those examples under in the Textures folder of the assed.
You are not limited to those textures, so feel free to play around and use whatever texture you like to create your own unique effect (e.g. hexagon, wave or any other patterns that you can think of)
Tiling
When using the provided simple noise textures the x tiling has no effect.
You can adjust the y tiling to change the amount of hologram lines of the provided texture.
Scroll Speed
Define the speed that the noise texture is scrolling down, to create the hologram effect. A negative speed will result into the noise textures scrolling up.
Flicker Strength
Define the strength of the flicker effect.
The higher the value, the better the flickering effect is visible.
Fade In
Controls the emission and alpha values. Reducing the value to zero will result in your object with the hologram material applied vanishing completely.
Make object disappear completely:
To actually be able for the object to completely disappear please make sure that you uncheck the “Preserve Specular Lighting” box under the Surface options of the shader
Create Ghost like appearance:
Check the “Preserve Specular Lighting” box and move Fade In to zero to achieve a ghost like effect
